Welcome to Anathoth Farms
We are a small family farm outside Memphis, TN that specializes in pleasure gaited horses. We are not in the horse trading business. The horses we have, and occasionally have for sale were all bought for our own personal use.
We know that the name "Anathoth" is a mouthful, but it holds a special meaning for us. Anathoth was a biblical city outside Jerusalem and the birthplace and home of the prophet Jeremiah. When the Babylonians threatened the devastation of all of Judah, God led Jeremiah to purchase a piece of land in Anathoth. This didn't seem like the best real estate decision based on the fact that invasion was imminent, but Jeremiah obeyed God and believed that he would restore His people. As an enduring sign of that confidence in God's word, Jeremiah purchased the land from his cousin Hanamel in Anathoth at the very time that the kingdom of Judah was falling to the Babylonians.
Our family has personally experienced Gods restorative power and grace, and we believe in his ability and desire to restore all of his people. It is my personal wish to find more and more ways to use this farm to touch people through these wonderful creatures we call horses.
